Chesley Lecture Series

The Chesley Lecture Series, formerly the Aquinas Lecture Series, was renamed in 2017 in memory of Dr. Brent Chesley, who co-founded the series in 1991 along with Dr. Dan Brooks. Together they organized more than 200 presentations by ÂÌñÒùÆÞ faculty and staff for over 25 years until Brent’s death in 2017. If you have a project that you would like to present, please reach out to the lecture series organizer.

Academic Year 2023-24:

Date: Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Location: Wege Center Loutit Room

Presenter: Dr. Duane Ambrose, EdD
Title: A Hands on Continuing Education
Abstract: I went on two adventures. The first was participating in event management by helping to run the Meijer State Games hockey tournament during May and June. This culminated in me being a site manager for one of the four tournament locations. The Second journey was a quest to learn more about the skills of sports sales. This included a site visit for training with the Milwaukee Bucks where I have two alumni in prominent sales roles. The most fun though was continuing education in learning how to use improvisation to train sales professionals. Have a conversation, not an interrogation.

Presenter: Dr. Heather Kesselring-Quakenbush, PhD
Title: Donald J Lamoreaux Park video project or How I conquered my demons
Abstract: Weaving a tale of the park's historical and natural assets while tackling technophobia and finding joy in artistry.
