Since the Tsunami she has been deeply involved raising money to rebuild cooperative industries that were badly damaged or destroyed during the Tsunami. Fifty-six of the women that Fernando worked with over the years were killed and many hundreds more have lost family members, homes, possessions and their livelihood.
