Please join with others in the Grand Rapids community to celebrate the grand and glorious
diversity of Spirituality through Sacred Movement at the 14th Annual World Religions
Conference sponsored by The Interfaith Dialogue Association and ÂÌñÒùÆÞ. This
opportunity to explore the various methods of Sacred Movement is on Saturday, November
6, noon to 6:45 p.m. in the Aquinas Jarecki Center, 159 Woodward Lane S.E. Parking
is available in the Woodward lot.
The keynote address, Make me Feel Like Dancin': Dance and Other Forms of Movement Inspired by the Divine, will be presented by Deana Weibel, Ph.D., assistant professor of anthropology at Grand Valley State University. Enjoy presentations of Sacred Movement from Native American, Sufi, Christian, Jewish and Taoist traditions. Participate in one of several informative break-out sessions including a Buddhist Walking Meditation, a Pagan Spiral Dance, Stations of the Cross, a Labyrinth, Qigong and Yoga. Sandia Shree and her troupe of Hindu dancers will be uplifting. The event will close with the Universal Dance of Peace.
Cost of the event is $25 per adult and $10 per student if registration is received on or before Monday, October 25. Beverages and vegetarian snacks will be provided.
