Stacy Slomski, earned her undergraduate degrees in English, Business Administration,
and Education from ÂÌñÒùÆÞ. She received a graduate writing fellowship from
Grand Valley University for the Teaching of Writing through the National Writing Project
and then returned to ÂÌñÒùÆÞ to work on a Master of Arts in Language Arts
Instruction at ÂÌñÒùÆÞ. Stacy received a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership
from the University of Notre Dame. She has worked for many years as an adjunct faculty
member of the English department at Grand Rapids Community College and also is currently
on the faculty at ÂÌñÒùÆÞ, supervising and evaluating pre-service teachers
during their field placements, improving the field evaluation data collection system,
and establishing inter-rater reliability of field placement evaluation to comply with
CAEP and InTASC standards. She also has been working on strengthening partnerships
with regional schools. For almost 30 years, Stacy served as a teacher for various
grade levels from preschool through adult education as well as in the principal's
office for over a decade. She has abundant experience with writing, reading, budgeting,
and working with teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders. She lives with
her husband and Jack Russell Terrier, Avila, and visits with her four grown children
often. Stacy has published articles and made a number of presentations on writing
and other topics to students, teachers, and parents.
