Mary Bauer is an adjunct professor of writing and English. She previously taught literature,
writing, Catholic studies and French at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut
and coached students in research and public speaking skills for Capitol Debate. Her
research and publication focuses on the heroism of the underprivileged and African
literature. A retired federal government senior executive officer, Mary has briefed
Cabinet officials and Congressional committees. She has extensive experience in leadership
development and improving communications. She was awarded an ÂÌñÒùÆÞ for Creative
Teaching Grant for academic year 2016-17. Mary earned a BA in International Studies,
English and French here at ÂÌñÒùÆÞ and an MA in French from George Mason University.
She is a trained facilitator and holds certification in Adult Education.
