Dan Mancilla teaches Inquiry and Expression at ÂÌñÒùÆÞ and also teaches Creative
Writing and Contemporary Literature at Kendall College of Art and Design. He earned
his Ph.D. and M.F.A. degrees from Western Michigan University and his B.A. from Western
Illinois University. Dan's fiction has appeared in such publications as Barrelhouse,
The Chicago Tribune, River Styx, The Saturday Evening Post, and Washington Square
Review, among others. His novella, The Deathmask of El Gaucho (Little Presque Books/Passages
North) and his short story collection, All the Proud Fathers (Dock Street Press) are
forthcoming in 2016. In addition to his writing pursuits, Dan has a professional interest
in Magic Realism and Marquez studies, is a long-suffering Chicago Cubs fan, and proudly
considers himself a professional wrestling aficionado.
